Whois Daigo Umehara? Daigo is a renowned Japanese player of arcade fighting games, especially in 2D Fighting games such as Capcom vs. SNK 2, Guilty Gear Series (XX, #Reload and Slash), Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Hyper Street Fighter II, Capcom Fighting Jam (taken from wikipedia…. w00t??!?! He got his own page on wikipedia?!??! What a legend!), the point is, he is a very strong player. Most people know about him because his unforgettable moment at EVO 2004, the 3rd Strike losers’ finals where his Ken makes a dramatic comeback against Justin Wong (using Chun Li). In the final round of the first match, Daigo’s Ken is down to his last pixels of life. Trying to take advantage of this, Wong attempts to chip Daigo for the win by doing a super (SA2), since blocking the super still causes significant damage. Seemingly ready for this tactic, Daigo parries all fourteen hits of Chun Li’s super, including an air parry on the last delayed hit, and combos into his own super (SA3) for the win. The large crowd at the tournament erupts as all of this unfolds.Because of his feat shown in the video, Daigo has gone on to become one of the most recognizable names in fighting games. Have you seen competition game on TvOne, twice a month on Sunday 2 PM till 3 PM? That’s e-gamers, gaming competition TV show, LIVE!

In this competition, every team will represent to play variety of games, such as Need For Speed, Winning Eleven (Pro Evolution Soccer), Counter Strike, and the last Virtua Fighter 5!

As a virtua fighter player, I was invited to play VF5. However, this show is a total joke, the host didn’t know anything about the game, just want to know how good the tv show rating. And they use PS3 for the console competition game, which is they used VF5 ver. B….

So if you curious about the competition looks like, just watch it! But, don’t expect much,  unless you don’t know WTF is going on… lol, just enjoy the show.

XBOX 360: New Xbox Experience review December 7, 2008

I’ve updated my Xbox360 with New Xbox Experience (NXE), the newest Xbox360 dashboard, smiliar to PS3 XMB with avatar inside. This latest installament provide you to copy your full dvd game into Xbox360 HDD, that makes you can play game with faster loading than usual, but you still have to insert those DVD games if you want to play. Another feature you will see Xbox360 avatar, an avatar about your own profile (similar like Mii in Wii), that you can make your own character, or sometimes you make character that similar to the owner. (like myself, lol)

Xbox360 NXE update is very brilliant idea, especially with HDD games install. I like a lot this feature, because some games really have loooong loading to play.

And FYI, in this December, microsoft also give NXE updated avatar for winter outfits, and you will get it automatically if you just signed in to XBOX LIVE. (very quick update, I even don’t realize)

Now, here’s my own gamertag :D

it’s finally official from TGS report, Project director of Namco Bandai, Harada Katsushiro said it. Now Tekken no longer PlayStation exclusive, maybe this will cause a big dissapoinment for ps3 fanboys, and for xbox 360 owner, this is very surprisingly a good news. Now, both console owner can enjoy the famous Namco Fighting Game, Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion (T6BR).

As for me, I’m so happy because if namco is planning to release on xbox 360, fall 2009 later, in the Next WCG 2010, I think there will be Tekken as well. Maybe for 2009 WCG would be Street Fighter or Soul Calibur IV. :)

Have you heard about ggpo?

GGPO is a networking library that game developers can use to add networked gameplay support to arcade style games. GGPO’s latency hiding techniques give each player a gameplay experience that is nearly indistinguishable from playing with their friends locally, even against players around the world.

That’s the general description taken from the original ggpo site.

So actually, this emulator serves you to play various kind of 2D Fighting Games online. But, it’s still beta so there are some bugs running while you playing. So far, it is only limited to the following games:

  1. Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara
  2. Garou: Mark of the Wolves
  3. The King of Fighters 2002
  4. The King of Fighters ‘98
  5. Marvel vs. Capcom
  6. Samurai Shodown 2
  7. Street Fighter Alpha 2
  8. Street Fighter Alpha 3
  9. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
  10. Super Street Fighter II: Turbo
  11. Vampire Savior
  12. X-Men vs. Street Fighter

for further information, just go to ggpo site

So, here’s my review after testing and playing it online (I play Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike)
